This handbook teaches you the special commands on Anthony’s Minecraft Server. A command is something you type in chat that starts with /. Tap any green command on this page to copy it, then paste it into Minecraft chat and press Enter.

The same world works on Java (usually a computer) and Bedrock (iPad, phone, Xbox, Switch, PlayStation).

  • Java address: java.ajmays.com (port 25565 is automatic)
  • Bedrock address: bedrock.ajmays.com with port 19132

On Bedrock your name might start with a little dot (like .PlayerName). That’s normal — keep the dot when you type someone’s name in a command.

This server is whitelist-only. That means a grown-up must request access on the Join page before you can play.

Admins are trusted players who can use extra “boss” commands (creative, weather, summon). If a new admin power doesn’t work, leave the server and join again once, then try the command again.

Be kind in chat

How talking works — and what happens if you break the rules.

Chat is how you talk to other players. Open chat (usually T on Java, or the chat button on Bedrock), type your words, then press Enter. Everyone nearby on the server can read normal chat.

Want to…Type this
Talk to everyoneJust type in chat (no / needed)
Private message one player/msg .FriendName hi

Chat rules (easy version)

  1. No naughty words and no real-life secrets (names, school, address).
  2. If you use a blocked word → your message is stopped and you get a warning.
  3. After 3 warnings you get a short timeout: can’t chat for 5 minutes, and the screen may look darker/slower so you notice.

Wait for the timer. Be kind. Then you can chat again!

Pets

Cute floating friends that follow you around.

Pets are fun decorations that float near you — they don’t fight or dig. Open the pet menu, turn pets on or off, and change their sparkles. You can have up to 3 pets at the same time.

Start with: /pets

  1. Type /pets and press Enter
  2. Click a pet to turn it on
  3. Click that pet again to turn it off
  4. Right-click a pet to change sparkles
  5. Use the red button to turn all pets off

Free item kits

Ready-made packs of items you can grab with one command.

A kit drops a bundle of useful items straight into your inventory. Some kits have a wait time (cooldown) before you can take them again — so you can’t spam free diamonds forever. If a kit says “1 hour”, wait one hour before trying that same kit again.

CommandWaitWhat you get
/kit tools1 hourStone tools + bread
/kit explorer2 hoursCompass, map, torches, food, boat
/kit builder2 hoursWood, cobble, glass, torches, doors
/kit fun1 dayCookies, cake, elytra, fireworks
/kitsLists kit names you can use

First-timer tip: try /kit fun for a silly starter treat.

Make a new kit Admins only

Admins can save whatever is in their inventory as a brand-new kit for friends.

  1. Clear your inventory, then put only the kit items in it
  2. Type /createkit mykitname 3600
  3. Friends collect it later with /kit mykitname
  • mykitname = short name with no spaces (example: swordpack)
  • 3600 = 1 hour · 7200 = 2 hours · 86400 = 1 day · 0 = no wait

Homes & teleporting

Save places and jump back to them in a blink.

Homes are saved spots in the world (like bookmarks). Stand somewhere cool, save it, wander off, then teleport home whenever you want. You can save up to 5 homes. TPA means “teleport ask” — you request to visit someone, and they must say yes.

CommandWhat it does
/sethomeSave your main home where you stand
/sethome castleSave an extra home called “castle”
/homeTeleport to your main home
/home castleTeleport to that named home
/delhome castleDelete that named home
/spawnGo to the server spawn point
/backReturn to where you were after death or a teleport
/tpa .FriendNameAsk a friend if you can visit them
/tpacceptAccept someone’s visit request
/tpdenyDecline a visit request
/tp .FriendNameInstant teleport Admins only

Replace .FriendName with the player’s real in-game name (keep the dot if they have one).

Silly poses

Fun emotes — great for photos at spawn.

These commands make your character sit, lie down, crawl, and more. They don’t give items — they’re just for fun and screenshots. Type one, press Enter, and strike a pose!

/sit /lay /crawl /bellyflop /spin

Change your skin

Change how your character looks in-game.

A skin is your character’s outfit/appearance. On this server you can temporarily look like famous Minecraft skins, open a skin menu, or clear back to normal. This doesn’t change your Xbox/Java account skin forever — it’s a server costume.

CommandWhat happens
/skin NotchLook like Notch
/skin SteveLook like Steve
/skin clearBack to your normal look
/skinsOpen the skin menu
/skinShow skin help

On Bedrock, fancy Xbox looks may show as a simpler skin. That’s OK!

Levelled monsters

Harder fights for braver adventurers.

Some monsters spawn with a level number (for example, a Level 5 Zombie). Higher level = tougher enemy and usually better loot when you win. You don’t type a special command for this — just explore and fight. It works the same on Java and Bedrock.

New tip: if a mob looks extra strong, bring friends, food, and a shield!

Shulker box tricks

Carry more stuff without filling your hotbar.

A shulker box is a magic chest you can carry in your inventory. On this server you can open one while holding it (no need to place it down). You can even nest shulkers for mega storage. /echest opens your personal ender chest from anywhere.

TrickHow
Open in your handHold a shulker box and right-click (don’t place it)
Mega storagePut a shulker box inside another shulker
Quick ender chest/echest

Parkour courses

Jumping challenges with checkpoints and scores.

Parkour means obstacle courses made of jumps. Use /pa to see courses, join one, and try to finish without falling. Checkpoints help you retry. If no courses exist yet, ask a grown-up/admin to help build the first one — then race your friends!

CommandWhat happens
/pa or /parkourParkour help / menu
/pa listSee available courses
/pa join CourseNameStart that course
/pa leaveLeave the course
/pa lobbyGo to the parkour lobby

Cool building tricks

Server perks that make building and surviving easier.

These aren’t chat commands — they’re special rules on Anthony’s world. Use the right tool (axe, pickaxe, etc.) and the server helps you build faster, decorate cooler, and lose less loot when you die.

Chop whole trees

Hit a tree with an axe and lots of logs can fall at once. Leaves disappear faster afterward so you get less leaf mess.

Mine whole ore veins

Break one ore with a pickaxe and connected matching ores can break together — great for iron and coal.

Iron elevators

Build a vertical lift with iron blocks stacked in the same spot on each floor.

  1. Place iron blocks under each floor (same position up/down)
  2. Stand on an iron block
  3. Jump = go up · Sneak = go down

Invisible item frames

Craft 8 Item Frames around 1 Phantom Membrane (same idea works with Glow Item Frames). Put a map or item inside — the frame hides for a clean wall display.

Armor stand poses

Make museum-style statues. Place an armor stand, then:

  1. /ase give
  2. Right-click the stand with the tool
  3. Move arms, rotate, and dress it up

Help: /ase ?. There’s also an Armor Statues book with buttons.

Survival niceties

  • Death chests — your items can land in a chest when you die (easier to find)
  • Sleep — when someone sleeps, night can skip faster
  • Shulkers drop 2 shells
  • Throw concrete powder into a water cauldron → solid concrete
  • Mobs can drop their head for decorating
  • Extra recipes: craftable name tags, cook rotten flesh → leather, universal dyeing, unlock-all recipes

Protect your build (claim land)

Stop griefers from smashing your base.

A claim is a protected rectangle of land. Inside your claim, other players usually can’t break or place blocks unless you trust them. Use a golden shovel to mark two opposite corners — like drawing a box around your house.

  1. Get a golden shovel
  2. Right-click one corner of your land
  3. Right-click the opposite corner
  4. Done — that area is yours!
CommandWhat it does
/trust .FriendNameLet a friend build on your claim
/untrust .FriendNameRemove their build permission
/claimslistSee your claims
/abandonclaimRemove the claim you’re standing in

Always ask before building on someone else’s claim — even friends.

Visit friends’ bases (warps)

Share a teleport link to your coolest builds.

A player warp is a public teleport point you create at your base so friends can visit. You can make up to 5 warps. Names should be about 4–16 letters/numbers. When someone teleports, they usually wait 3 seconds without moving.

Main menu: /playerwarp

CommandWhat it does
/playerwarp create MyBaseMake a warp where you stand
/playerwarp teleport MyBaseGo there (wait 3s — don’t move)
/playerwarp delete MyBaseDelete that warp
/playerwarpOpen the warps menu

Villager shops

Buy and sell items with custom shopkeepers.

Some villagers on this server are shops. Right-click them to open a trade menu and swap items/coins. Making a brand-new shop needs admin tools — ask a grown-up/admin if you want to set one up.

Do thisWhat happens
Right-click a shop villagerOpen trades
/shopkeeper helpFull shop help

Simple shop setup Admins only
  1. Admin types /shopkeeper give
  2. Put the sell items in a chest
  3. Use the shop tool near the chest
  4. Set prices in the menu
  5. Players right-click the villager to buy

Extra handy commands

Everyday tools every player should know.

These small commands help you check who’s online, re-read the rules, see your coins, and tip friends. Coins are the server money used with shops and /pay.

CommandWhat it does
/listSee who is online
/helpGeneral help
/rulesShow the rules
/balanceCheck your coins
/pay .FriendName 10Give a friend 10 coins

Admin powers Admins only

Boss-mode tools. Skip this chapter unless you’re an admin.

Admin commands can change the weather, give items, summon mobs, and edit the world quickly. Normal players can’t use these. If a command fails, leave the server and join again once, then retry. On Bedrock, type admin commands in chat, not only from a menu.

Game modes

Switch how you play: survival (normal), creative (fly + free blocks), adventure (limited breaking), spectator (ghost view).

/gamemode survival /gamemode creative /gamemode adventure /gamemode spectator /gmc /gms

Weather

Change the sky instantly. Add a big number at the end to keep that weather for longer (in seconds).

/weather clear /weather rain /weather thunder /sun /storm /thunder

Examples: /weather clear 1000000 · /weather rain 600

Time & difficulty

Flip day/night or change how hard monsters are.

/time set day /time set night /difficulty peaceful /difficulty easy /difficulty normal

Give items

Pattern: /give <player> <item> <how many>

/give .PlayerName diamond 64 /give .PlayerName cooked_beef 32 /give .PlayerName elytra 1

Summon animals & mobs

Stand where you want them to appear, then run a summon command.

/summon pig /summon cow /summon sheep /summon chicken /summon wolf /summon cat /summon horse /summon villager /summon zombie /summon skeleton /summon creeper /summon enderman /summon allay /summon axolotl /summon bee

If a short name fails: /summon minecraft:pig

Super tough elite mobs

These look like normal mobs (so Java + Bedrock both see them), but they’re harder and drop better loot. Great for family boss fights!

Need help?

Stuck? Ask a grown-up — never adventure confused alone.

If a command doesn’t work, check your spelling (and the little dot in Bedrock names). Still stuck? Ask a grown-up nearby, or use the website buttons below for whitelist, status, and the live map.

Have fun — you’re awesome. Now go build something legendary!
